Nomadbase
Invitation only · one or two per city

You already answer
these questions.
Now it counts.

Where should I work from? Is that neighbourhood any good? What does a room actually cost? If you have lived somewhere long enough, you answer this every month — in DMs, to people you will never meet again.

Ambassadors answer it once, in the place everyone looks — and become the person the city knows.

What this actually is

A named role, not a badge we hand out.

Ambassadors are the layer between a database and a community. We appoint one — occasionally two — per city, by application and a conversation, and we would rather have twenty of the right people than two hundred titles. If you are appointed, your name is on that city publicly, and you are the first person the arrivals meet.

1–2

ambassadors per city

Not a badge. A named role.

103

cities in the catalogue

Most are still waiting for theirs.

~2h

a month, honestly

We would rather say so now.

What you would be looking after

We built a guide to 103 cities. It needs people who live in them.

Not a listicle and not a wiki. A dataset where every single number carries its source, its unit and the date it was measured — and where a missing value stays visibly empty rather than being guessed.

What the machines already do

Climate from a self-hosted ERA5 model. Connectivity from real M-Lab speed tests. Visa rules checked against government sources for five reference passports. Air quality, airports, population, cost indices — all refreshed on a schedule.

2,453 places, imported and moderated

Coworking, cafés, gyms, yoga, surf — pulled from OpenStreetMap, then filtered by trust rules. Plenty are still wrong, closed, or in the wrong neighbourhood. A machine cannot know that.

What no pipeline can produce

What a room costs this month. Which café actually holds a video call. That the good coworking closed in March. Whether a neighbourhood is worth the extra €200. That is the half only someone who is there can write — and it is the half people come for.

The role

Four things, about two hours a month

This is a real commitment and we would rather be honest about it than have you quit in month two.

Pin the places worth going to

The cafés with wifi that holds, the coworking worth the money, the gym that lets you pay by the week. Anyone can suggest a place — an ambassador vouches for it, and that is what makes the list trustworthy.

Keep the numbers current

When rent moves, you say so. The pipeline handles climate, visas and connectivity; what it cannot know is that the good coworking closed in March or that the €400 rooms are now €600.

Host something now and then

A dinner. A coworking morning. A drink on a Thursday. It does not have to be an event — it has to be an excuse for people who are in the same city to be in the same room.

Welcome the arrivals

When someone checks into your city, you are the first hello in the group chat. That single message is most of the job, and it is the part people remember years later.

What you get

Standing first, and everything else after

The person the city knows

You become who people message before they land. In our experience this is why ambassadors stay — not the commission, and not the free membership.

Your name on the city

Credited on the public destination page — the one that ranks in search. Your profile, your photo, your link.

Membership, free

Full Nomadbase membership for as long as you are active. The map, the chats, messaging, travel plans, deals — worth €249 a year.

And yes — you earn on referrals

Every ambassador joins our affiliate programme automatically. We are putting the numbers here because you should be able to see them, not because this is why anyone should do it. Treat it as a thank-you that grows with the city, not as an income.

4/mo

30% of the first-year membership · €15 each

1/mo

5% of a booking · ≈ €120 each

Rates are indicative and confirmed when you're appointed. Commission is tracked on your own referral link and paid out monthly — the same affiliate system our partners use, not a promise on a landing page.

Roughly per month

€179

Memberships€59
Events€120
Over a year€2,146

Plus your own membership, free, for as long as you're active — worth €249 a year on its own.

Is this you?

Good fit

  • You have spent 3+ months in the city, or keep coming back
  • People already ask you for recommendations there
  • You know a handful of locals and nomads by name
  • You are around often enough to host something occasionally
  • You would correct a wrong number rather than shrug at it

Probably not

  • You are passing through for two weeks
  • You mainly want the free membership
  • You want to promote your own business there
  • You cannot commit an hour or two a month
  • You have never been to the city you are applying for

Tell us about your city

Five minutes, no account needed, no CV. We read every application and a person answers — usually within a week.
