Delete your Nomadbase account

You can permanently delete your Nomadbase account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains the two ways to request deletion, what gets removed, what we keep, and how long it takes.

Option 1 — Delete inside the app (recommended)

Open the Nomadbase app and sign in.
Go to the You tab → Settings → Delete account.
Confirm the deletion. You will be signed out immediately.

Account deletion in the app runs synchronously: your profile, posts, photos, messages, and bookings are scheduled for deletion right after you confirm.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app, send a deletion request from the email address associated with your account to hello@nomadbase.com with the subject line "Account deletion request".

We will verify your identity by replying to that email and process the deletion within 30 days, typically within 7 working days.

What gets deleted

Your profile (name, bio, skills, languages, photo, location, travel plans)
Your posts, comments, stories, and reactions
Your direct messages on both sides of the conversation
Your event bookings and personal preferences
Your push notification tokens and session data
Your authentication account (email, password hash, OAuth tokens)

What we keep, and why

A small subset of records is retained for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons. These records do not contain enough information to reconstruct your profile but may include your name and email where required by law.

Booking and payment records — kept for up to 10 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations in our jurisdiction (Cyprus and the EU).
Moderation and abuse reports — kept anonymized for up to 24 months to protect the community against repeat violations.
Backups — encrypted database backups expire on a 30-day rolling window. Deleted data disappears from backups within 30 days of the deletion request.

Timeframes

In-app deletion: immediate sign-out; full data removal from primary systems within 24 hours.
Email request: processed within 30 days (usually 7 working days).
Backups: all references purged within 30 days of the primary deletion.
